To my knowledge the SEC protects investors...

Are they after JUST Autosurf sites? or HYIP programs aswell?

Impulse: I think they are 'after' whoever has complaints against them--whether it be ASurfs or Hyips...the focus right NOW is on Asurfs due to the 12 DP/SP debacle...

Are they truly after our safety? I think in some ways : yes...but if that were totally true...they would have assessed the number of complaints versus happy 'campers' with 12 DP before they ordered them to cease & desist.

The dirt on the SEC (as per themselves) is here:
    http://www.sec.gov/about/whatwedo.shtml

The mission of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation.

If you go there you will see pictures of the two guys that helped bring them to fruition. No it's not McConnell and Girsky
It's FDR and Joe Kennedy. Joe (who made a killing during prohibition with Canadian booze) being the father of two assassinated sons. FDR being Mr. New Deal, who under the guise of saving the country gave the bankers free reign over the american economy. If you go to Monticello, Virginia, you will here a strange whirring sound by Thomas Jefferson's grave, I'm sure.

I study law and government. I consider myself a human rights activist. The government considers me enemy of the state. Just a difference of opinion.

One of the biggest problems in the world today is a despotic leftover from the dark ages. There is a very informative video available on the net. The download is free or your can purchase a hard copy. It is very well presented and in the end offers a sensable solution to the problem. It covers America and England mostly. Also France, Spain, Germany, and Russia. It is an historical accounting beginning in pre-revolutionary America. It's a rather large download and comes in two parts. They total nearly 150 meg. in .wmv format. Runs 4 hrs I believe. Pm me if you would like the link.

remember when I brought up early 1760's versus differences in 1860's & into 1930's? thats when the 'baby' was really born.

but anyway....the rise of the 'illuminati'--has had major influence (if not total) in the world...this one world order--one world banking system...

ok..dont get me started...I need coffee....

Coffee? That'll really get you going. I don't get started anymore, I stay started. I truly believe that eventually the tide will turn. Please lable me an optimist. Not a fool.

The SEC is just a part of the government which deals with investments. It protects us, the investors, so they should be respected. They are known for shutting down many illegal stock offerings in the past.

They are also the ones that make sure that there is no insider trading taking place on the markets.

Thats just what they want us to think ChezVoltaire. Take a look at the 12dp fiasco who is dividing up the remaining funds while the sec allow then to do so without the slightest whimper.
The fact remains that many 12dp members did not use stormfraud or visa to fund their 12dp accounts and they appear to be totally left out of current arrangements to access the money. The only people with court approved access to the funds are VISA MASTERCARD anf guess who TYMEGLOBAL. member who funded by egold are thrown to the back of the queue to divvy up any remaining scraps once these three vultures of society have picked over the remanents.
It is an outrage beyond comprehension that any funds should be divided up between none 12dp members.
